INDIA Anji Khad Bridge, 750 m long, crosses the Anji River, located on the Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur Srinagar-Baramulla railway line in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The structure, designed by Italferr and currently under construction, is among the most significant of the entire railway line that will cross the Northwest region of India, along the slopes of Kashmir, to the border with Pakistan. Given the characteristics of the Anji River, which flows in a deep gorge with sub-vertical walls, Italferr proposed the cable-stayed bridge solution with a central span of 260 m with an asymmetrical layout and a single tower placed on the more accessible side. The Anji Khad bridge takes shape
MILANO-BOLOGNA Cable-stayed Bridge over the Po River, the construction of which was supervised by Italferr, constitutes a world record of its kind, it being made entirely of concrete and serving an HS line with a design speed of 350 km/h. The 400 m long bridge, divided into three large spans and fixed with 72 stays of differentiated length and inclination, constitutes the central part of a 1400 m viaduct with which the Milan-Bologna railway line crosses the main banks of the Po River in the provinces of Lodi and Piacenza. The viaduct constitutes the largest river-crossing system in Italy, linking Lombardy and Emilia Romagna and representing one of the most significant works in the European network.
GENOA San Giorgio Bridge designed by Italferr with the most advanced technologies and unusual engineering solutions. The bridge has reinforced concrete piers of elliptical section with a constant pitch of 50 m except for 3 spans, for which the spacing increases to 100 m. The main deck consists of a 1,067 m long truss with 19 spans. The bridge features important technological content that enhances its architecture and sustainability in terms of energy, ensuring a high degree of safety and durability.
ROMANIA Calafat-Vidin Bridge, the "New Europe Bridge" is a 4-lane road and rail link, approximately 1,300 meters wide and almost 2 km long, crossing the Danube to join the cities of Calafat in Romania and Vidin in Bulgaria. Italferr provided technical assistance and supervision of works during construction, along with all necessary technical design adjustments. The new bridge is part of the Pan-European Transport Corridor, which that connects the German city of Dresden to the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul thereby allowing rapid interconnection to the major European transport corridors.
TORINO-MILANO Arch Bridge, a through bridge over the Naviglio Grande on the Turin-Milan rail section, consists of two steel arches with open double-T section lying on vertical and parallel planes, spaced at 13.72 m; the distance between imposts is 47.7 m, the rise of the arch’s keystone is 12 m. The deck, with a total length of 14.92 m, consists of a grid of crosspieces and girders. The structure mirrors the design of the classic tied-arch bridges that have been used by railroads since bygone times.
SIRIA al Tabeje-al Bookamal railway bridge over the Euphrates River, a through bridge consisting of 5 metal spans of lattice type closed at the top. Italferr provided technical assistance during workshop construction, erection, launching and testing of the structure. The single-track section was designed in terms of piers and abutments so as to accommodate future doubling of the line.
BOLOGNA-VERONA Bridge over the Po River, between Ostiglia and Revere, is an infrastructure on the Bologna-Verona line that crosses the river between the stations of Ostiglia and Poggio Rusco, in the province of Mantua. The bridge joins the two banks of the Po, spanning a distance of about 500 meters in a straight line. Weighing 12,652 tonnes, the bridge is made of steel and concrete, consisting of 12 metal trusses with a lower span having two lengths (73.6 and 64.4 metres), a width of 6.6 metres and an average weight of 550 tonnes each, resting on concrete pillars built into the riverbed.
SERBIA Zezely Bridge crosses over the Danube River at the city of Novi Sad. The bridge, whose preliminary and detailed design was developed by Italferr, features two steel arches 470 meters long and about 32 meters wide. Inaugurated in 2018, the new bridge enables the movement of road and rail traffic on two tracks and two lanes between the city of Novi Sad and the opposite bank dominated by the Petrovaradin Fortress.
BOLOGNA-VENEZIA Metal Bridge, through bridge located on the A14 motorway, with a curved double track line of the triangular mesh type. It weighs a total of 840 t and is divided into 14 spans 5,382 m long. The new railway link intersects the A14 motorway axis at an angle of about 35°. The strong obliquity and the need to maintain a 58 m clear span on the motorway bed without the insertion of piers onto the carriageways led to the design choice of a main steelwork truss with a span of 75.35 m. The deck is of oblique type and was designed for a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
BOLOGNA-FIRENZE Arch Bridge is a through bridge crossing the Sieve River. The limited height of the iron deck in relation to the waterway forced the adoption of the classic tied-arch bridge solution. The bridge has a span of 75 m and consists of two box-section steel arches resting on oblique planes converging upward and a mixed steel and concrete deck; the chains are also box-section that can be inspected. The distance between imposts is 75 m, the arch rise is 16 m, and the maximum width of the bridge is about 19 m.
