Italferr was the first contracting authority in Italy to achieve accreditation as a Type B Inspection Body (IB), in accordance with UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17020, strengthening its role within the engineering sector and expanding the range of services it offers to the control and verification companies, as required by the Tenders Code (Leg. Decree No. 50/2016, as amended) for the purpose of validating projects for tendering or of approving projects drawn up by the Contractor (post tender), thereby capitalising and enhancing the experience gained over the years.

The IB has its own Management System in compliance with the requirements of UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17020 and is integrated with the Business Management System for common processes.

In its capacity as Inspection Body, Italferr constantly ensures the pursuit of the established objectives and the results expected from the project verification activities in terms of guaranteeing technical feasibility, reduction of the reserve risk, maintenance of costs, reliability of timelines, compliance with intervention programs and compliance with mandatory and contractual regulations.
