Verona-Rovigo railway line

Work has started on the new underpass for the elimination of three level crossings

Work has begun in Cerea, in the province of Verona, along the Verona - Legnago - Rovigo railway line for the elimination of three level crossings located on Via Isolella Bassa and Vicolo San Zeno.

The work involves the construction of an approximately 350 metres long underpass that will run underneath the railway line and will be completed with the construction of the complementary road system, with an investment of 17.5 million euros, 7 of which to be financed by the Region.

Italferr will have the role of managing the RFI/Contractor contract and of supervising the works.

Present at the start-up ceremony were the Mayor of the Municipality of Cirea, the Vice President of the Veneto Region, the Italferr Team and the Head of the level crossing suppression and acoustic rehabilitation programs of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

As part of the modernisation process of the Veneto region's railway network, the project is part of a broader program for the performance and functional improvement of the region's infrastructure assets, implemented in synergy with local administrations.
