Italferr, the engineering company of the FS Group's Infrastructure Hub, among the leading protagonists at the intermediate convention on the progress status of Spoke 7 of the CHANGES Extended Partnership with the support of R3C and the CRC Foundation, organised by the Turin Polytechnic and Florence University.
Involvement in the “Cultural Heritage at Risk in the Era of Digital Transformation” held at the Sanctuary di Vicoforte (CN) from 20 to 22 March 2024, which saw Italferr make its contribution during the Day dedicated to Large Domes.
Italferr's involvement represented yet another important occasion for sharing the current and future goals, process and results of the ambitious project run for the Fabbrica di San Pietro body, with the scientific community. This saw the construction of a Digital twin of the seventeenth century forepart of the Vatican Basilica, in order to monitor its structural status.
This project, which had already won the international "Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure" contest last October in Singapore, attracted a lot of attention among those in attendance, due to the high technical quality and innovative solutions used in a process guided by digitalisation.
This was an important opportunity for Italferr to strengthen its leadership when it comes to innovation and digitalisation for large works, including for safeguarding cultural heritage.
