On 2 March, Italferr completed, for and on behalf of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana S.p.A., the negotiation procedure related to the executive design and construction of the implementation works of the tripping system for the 8 Electrical Sub-Stations of the Rome-Lido regional railway line.
The contract is part of the project called "Ferrovia Roma-Lido" for the upgrading of rapid mass transport in urban and metropolitan areas, financed in favour of the Lazio Region in the Operational Plan of the Infrastructure Development and Cohesion Fund 2014-2020, approved by the CIPE.
Italferr entirely managed the awarding procedure, remotely via the Procurement Portal, preparing the negotiation documents, carrying out the tender and the sub-procedure of verification of the general, anti-mafia and techno-economic requirements, arranging the actual awarding and coordinating the stipulation of the contract.
The contract, awarded to SIEMENS MOBILITY S.r.l. for 264 thousand Euros, aims, by analogy with R.F.I.'s ASDE system, to improve the safety and reliability of the contact line, while also allowing an increase in the power that can be delivered by the individual sections of the electric traction systems.
Shortly, within the scope of the same project, a further tender will be called by Italferr for the awarding of the executive design and the work for the renewal of the track, electric traction and for the realisation of related complementary interventions, for an estimated value of approximately 54 million Euros.
The FS Italiane Group's commitment to the development of infrastructure and public services in Italy continues, helping to address the global health emergency situation also by providing safe and sustainable mobility in urban and metropolitan areas.
