DAR ER SALAAM-MOROGORO-MAKUTUPORA RAILWAY LINE

Italferr focuses on Tanzania's infrastructure development.

Yapi Merkezi Idis (Engineering Technology Company of the Yapi Merkezi Group) entered into a consulting contract with Italferr for the development of the signalling and telecommunications systems on the 205 km long Dar Es Salaam-Morogoro railway line (Lot 1), an integral part of the "Tanzania Central Corridor - Package 1" project. The activities, under Preliminary Design, included both the development of technical specifications and functional requirements and the design of the signalling based on the ETCS Level 2 System and Computer Based Interlocking.

Later, the Company was awarded the same consulting services for the 344-km long Morogoro-Makutupora railway line (Lot 2).

The entire project, which covers more than 550 km of ERTMS Level 2 electrified line for passenger and freight trains, is part of a Design & Build awarded by RAHCO (Tanzanian Railways) to the Grouping coordinated by the Turkish manufacturer Yapi Merkezi.

The work has been completed.
