HS TECHNOLOGIES FOR CORRIDOR IV
An important contract awarded at the end of an international tender in which Italferr placed ahead of major international engineering companies.
Italferr was commissioned by ENR - Egyptian National Rail - to develop the design of the signalling systems of Corridor IV of the Egyptian infrastructure network, represented by the two strategic sections Benha - Zagazig - El-Ismailia - Port Said and Zagazig - Abu-Kebir, for a total extension of about 214 km, 21 stations, 1 CTC (Centralised Traffic Control point) in Zagazig and 40 technological buildings.
The 3-year contract involves Italferr in preparing the technical specifications and tendering documents and assisting the Client until the tender is awarded for the executive design, supply, installation and commissioning. In view of the positive results achieved, the Client also entrusted Italferr with the Works Supervision regarding the installation of the new technological systems on the two sections.
The order is in addition to the activities that Italferr, in association with RFI and Italcertifer, is putting in place for the project to migrate to the ETCS Level 1 signalling system on the Alexandria - Cairo - Asyut corridor.
