Italferr for the requalification of Roma San Pietro Station

A work for the City of Rome that will last over time

On February 5 works for the requalification and refunctioning of Roma San Pietro Station were completed. Its inauguration witnessed the presence of Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and Group FS President Tommaso Tanzilli.

The interventions concerned:

  • The requalification of the interiors of the passenger buildings
  • The Station's underpasses and other accesses
  • The installation of new platform roofs
  • The renewal of pavements
  • Lighting adjustments

The requalification involved also the external spaces, specifically Piazzale della Stazione di San Pietro, where new spaces reserved to pedestrians were reinforced and a new platform roof was installed for bicycles and scooters.

The result achieved was made possible thanks to the synergy between the Italferr Project Management, the RFI Client, and the Contractor.

The Roma San Pietro Station is a functional and an efficient intermodal hub, but also a space for social integration. Indeed, the Station is the main point of access to the Saint Peter's Basilica, thus it is used by believers coming to Rome from all over the world for the Jubilee 2025.
