SARMIENTO CITY LINE

After two years of specialised preliminary designs, Italferr was identified by the G&S Consortium to play the role of Main Designer for the entire design, executive and construction support process of the project.

The  Sarmiento Line represented the most challenging project within Italferr's activities in Latin America, involves the modernization of the current historical Sarmiento line (about 37 km) which connects the suburban Moreno station to the Once station near the center of Buenos Aires. Once in operation, the line will have to be completely modernized and provide for a new technological system, capable of ensuring a frequency of 3 minutes and passenger loads similar to a metro system, all in a highly urbanized area.

The work was completed in 2019.
