The FS Group attends SAIE 2023 with the Infrastructure Hub

Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Italferr and Anas together in the area dedicated to the excellence of Italian projects

The 2023 edition of the International Construction Fair, held in the evocative setting of the Fiera del Levante in Bari located on the city's seafront, from 19 to 21 October, has come to an end with a format enriched with companies, content and initiatives.

New this year was a pavilion dedicated exclusively to Infrastructure, where exhibitors, visitors, and institutions met to create new business opportunities, delve into the most up-to-date technical aspects, give visibility to their companies, and take advantage of unique opportunities for exchange.

The FS Group's Infrastructure Hub, represented by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), Italferr, and Anas, was at the forefront with a dedicated stand and a series of round tables and conferences on sustainable infrastructure and the design of engineering structures.

Within the framework of the conference organised by CIFI (Italian Association of Railway Engineers), in collaboration with the RFI Operations Department in Bari and moderated by Rosaria Ferro, Head of Italferr's Permissions, Expropriations and Subcontracting department, the technical speech given by the Director of Design, Luigi Evangelista, triggered considerable interest.

The focus of his paper was the main infrastructural interventions for the construction of the new HS Naples-Bari railway line. In particular, the audience was shown relevant details on the doubling of the Hirpinia-Orsara railway section, where a 27 km tunnel, one of the longest in the world, is scheduled to be constructed.

Specialists from Italferr also illustrated several methodological excellences in the field of design, such as BIM, with an in-depth look at the application of digitalisation to infrastructure, starting from tender phase up to the construction site, and at the new monitoring techniques which are currently a very popular topic in the construction sector.
