DELHI-GHAZIABAD-MEERUT REGIONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM

Since 2019, Italferr, in partnership with the Spanish engineering company Ayesa, has been providing, on behalf of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation-NCRTC, Project Management Cunsulting services for the construction of the new Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit (RRTS) Corridor system, consisting of a 82.15 km long double-track main elevated viaduct, with 2 tunnels, 25 stations and 2 depots.

The initiative is part of the New Integrated Transport Development Plan 2032, which envisages the construction of a total of 8 high-speed corridors to ensure an extensive integrated multi-modal transport system aimed at improving the efficiency of the rail public transport system, and the urban and regional interconnection between the states of Delhi and the neighbouring districts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

As part of this, the new Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor will run over 500 km within the National Capital Region (NCR), with the city of Delhi as its centre.
