RAILWAY PROJECTS

Italferr, the engineering company of the Italian State Railways Group, is assisting the Uzbek Railways in the implementation of the electrification project of the main railway lines in the heart of the most productive part of the Asian country.

ANGREN-PAP RAILWAY LINE

Italferr was awarded, by the Uzbek Railways, the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the implementation of electrification on the Angren-Pap railway line (124 km, including a 19.2 km railway tunnel, the longest in Central Asia, which crosses the Kamchik Pass), in the heart of the most productive part of the Asian country.The project also included the procurement and control of the installation of technological systems (signalling and telecommunications) as well as the procurement of machinery for infrastructure maintenance.

Work started in November 2016 and was completed in March 2020.

PAP-NAMANGAN-ANDIJAN RAILWAY LINE

Italferr was awarded, by the Uzbek railways, in JV with Tecnic Consulting Engineers, the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the technological upgrading of the railway infrastructure along the Pap-Namangan-Andijan line, about 145 km of tracks connecting the main cities of the Fergana Valley with Tashkent. The Company carried out design review, tender management and construction management activities, including the commissioning of the systems.

Work began in late 2017 and was completed in May 2021.

ANGREN-PAP-KOKAND-ANDIJAN RAILWAY LINE

Italferr was awarded the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract by the Uzbek railways for the technological upgrading of the railway infrastructure along the Angren-Pap-Kokand-Andijan line, about 260 km of tracks connecting the main cities of the Fergana Valley with Tashkent. The company carried out design review, tender management and construction management activities, including the commissioning of the systems.

Work started in early 2022 and is still ongoing.
